No, the Neighbour Alert System does not directly contact emergency services or the police. It activates a loud alarm and a flashing strobe light to deter intruders and alert your neighbours that you may need assistance. If your phone is out of reach or taken away, your neighbours can then call emergency services on your behalf.
How many and what type of batteries does the system require?
The system requires 6 x AA batteries. We recommend using high-quality batteries to ensure optimal performance.
How often should I replace the batteries?
We recommend changing the batteries whenever the unit has been triggered for a approx. 20 minutes. A good rule of thumb is to schedule your battery change with your smoke alarm battery replacement, as the batteries typically provide up to 12 months of standby time under normal usage conditions.
Can I install the unit on a brick wall?
Yes, the unit can be installed on any surface, including brick walls. You can mount it upright on the wall or place it under the eaves or ceiling.
How do I mount the alert button?
The alert button can be easily mounted anywhere using the double-sided tape provided.
How do I turn off the alarm once it has been triggered?
The alarm can only be turned off using the “off” button on the remote fob.
